PHOTOCARDS

I decided to send some postcards wishing people Happy Holidays,
but I didn't have any postcards at all.And digging through old film photos, you find quite suitable postcards.
I just cut the sky out of this one,

and then wrote my letter on the back!
and placed the sky into the envelope, and sent it through air mail!
I think I'm actually going to do this from now on;
take film photos just with the thought that I'll make them
one-of-a-kind postcards.

SILENT NIGHT

Youtube holiday video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSmOTcKNXsY
muahahaha bad joke.

SWEET STACHE

My dad got some weird 'cappucino' flavoured candy canes,
and since they're brown, I figured they'd make for good mustaches.
Just use some tape, and maybe even a red pom pom,
and you've got a holiday stache :} )

PROFILE FUN

Again, Katie Sokoler is an inspiration. This site too that I stumbled on: http://mashable.com/2010/12/14/new-facebook-profile-hacks/ gives fun ideas on what people have done to customize their facebook profile a little bit. I tried it with pacman? It's not as easy as it looks, I must say. The template crops the photos so you have to put everything off to the side... anyways! Presto. Pacman profile.

This took me way too long, but again, just procraftinating.
Not like I have any work to do, it is the holidays..

CUDDLY LASER BEAMS

What if laser beams could be cuddly?Well now they are!
It's not dangerous if you stare at them too long,
and you can install them pretty much anywhere.

Just watch out if you have a cat. They tend to de-activate lasers really easily.

DOODLE TECHNIQUES

My friend linked me to Vi Hart's youtube page, and she has the most epic (procraftinating) doodles I have ever seen. But they're genius mathematical doodles! Take a look at her videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/Vihart#p/u/1/DK5Z709J2eo

PHOTOBOOTH PACMAN

I absolutely love Color me Katie and I'm always inspired by her.
When I saw her street art pacman, I tried making my own
and I went to a photobooth in the subway and turned pacman
and all the ghosts sideways so it looks like a game is going on in one photo strip!

One day I hope to own a photobooth.

I posted it on her wall and she replied! I am star struck.

BOOT SOCKS

These boots are keeping me warm for the winter,
so I thought I'd add something to keep them warm;
So I knit little boot 'cozies' to put on them.
I hope the boots will be pleased.

IT'S JUST A TERM!

Just another thing I made while procrastinating..

COMPUTER PALS

I love my macbook, but it can't hold 2 usb's at the same time,
so I got this "USB hub man" and named him Herbert. I'm not sure why.
But he was naked so I made him a tuxedo!

HIP USB

My parents got me a usb! Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm so excited to start with fresh files.

But the usb itself was kind of...not special. "Hip Street"? No thanks.

So get out your handy-dandy glue gun, and any little supplies you can find!

I got a bunch of beads and a button, and there's a little googly eye in there too.

Aaand the back consists of GNTUSB which simply stands for: Gender Neutral Traveling USB. It's an inside joke, I guess.

MACCOON

Hello there! I've got an essay to write. But instead, I've stumbled upon this! http://9gag.com/gag/23894 You can sew a little animal toy, from just one glove. Awesome? Awesome.

So I did.

Thankfully, I found only one glove out of a pair, just what the recipe calls for.

I'm not quite sure whether it's a mouse, or a raccoon. Or even a zebra.

FOTOCRAFTINATION

The lovely Noella and I procraftinated this Friday morning by playing dress up, and me taking the photos. She's now got a blog ladies and gentlemen! http://www.petitemadmoiselle.blogspot.com/

Just to pin point where my head is located for most of the day, you can now put your head in the clouds too!

Just download this photo, and place a photograph of you in it! Play around in photoshop, and presto! Day dreaming. Aaaaaand procraftination

THUMBS UP FOR

I don't think that procrastinating is necessarily a bad thing. I like to think that it keeps me sane, actually! Taking a break from something that doesn't allow you to think straight. It gives you a breather, and you may just end up doing something productive for yourself.

I believe that people become creative in their pursuits of procrastination; we devise a whole scheme to avoid doing work that may stress us. And in the end we get our whole act together to finish up. It's quite miraculous.

At first I was worried about my method of doing work, since I prolong it. But hey, let's embrace it. As long as we still end up accomplishing everything, a little procrastination allows us to make things a little more fun.

CLEANING

Do you ever decide to finally clean up your room, and then end up reminiscing about old things you find? Photos, or old school work, sketches, or books?

I procrastinated the other day from cleaning, and found old drawings I made, and then decided to take pictures of them. I can't say my room is any cleaner..

Friday, October 29, 2010

So for the past month I've slowly been knitting to procrastinate. I'd say to myself, "Just another row!" and then I can't seem to stop. It's not just an old lady's craft; I've gotta say it's kind of addicting. I mean, why can't knitting be cool, huh?

Well I knit the coolest thing ever. A Hufflepuff scarf! [I knit a Slytherin one too] And to make it completely authentic, ordered an iron on patch online! So todays procraftination is the completion of my Harry Potter scarf.

Now I'm ready to see the movie once it comes out in theatres :D

STUMBLING

Well if you don't know about stumbleupon.com, it is pretty much that ultimate way to procrastinate, and find the most incredible things in the internet world. So, I didn't make anything today by procrastinating, but I did stumble on this video. I think it's lovely:

BLOGBLOGBLOG

Well, I guess my first sample of procraftination would simply be...the creation of this blog. I'm supposed to be working on a variety of assignments right now actually.

I thought I came up with the name "procraftination"! You know, thinking I was all brilliant by changing one letter. I guess not. I found this blog http://www.procraftinate.blogspot.com/ when I was trying to make a page for mine. So thank you fellow procrastinator for your definition!

So, anyways, I guess this will allow me to keep track of all the crazy things I do to avoid work!

Take care,

Iva
